I think u were right first time Monk, Garrett, Brown.
What did the next bunch of receivers (Monk, Clark, Sanders) become known as?
In trying to check the names of the Smurfs out, I came across a nickname for the rather porous defensive secondary of the '83 Redskins (despite the presence of Darrell Green). I'd never heard of it before. What was it?

Dunno, but if you are running at nearly +3 turnovers a game you can afford to be a little on the generous side yardage wise, I guess...

I think it was a case of ...
- the offense set the league record for scoring so other teams would have had to pass to play catchup.
- The run defense was ranked #1 (whether this was teams go throw easily or running was difficult I know not).
The Smurfs also turned into a different nickname when they scored. Anyone know that?

the funky bunch? A nickname attributed to myself at one point... I'll leave you to ponder as to why...
Clark, Monk and Sanders were otherwise known as the 'Posse'...
SB XXII eh? The Three Amigos on one side and the Posse on the other...
Where have all these catchy nicknames gone these days...? there doesn't seem to be as many about now...

The "Fun Bunch" actually.
Still no name for that defensive secondary ...
And of course the o-line had a name ...
I guess the names have gone for two reasons:
1) they've run out of them.
2) free agency means units dont stay together too long.

got the names for the rest of that Detroit D... I admit I looked them up but I do recognize the names...
DE - Dan Owens
DE - Marc Spindler
DE - Kelvin Pritchett, not sure which two started...
OLB - George Jamison
and the other Safety teamed with Bennie Blades, William White...
