And Greg Williamson of the Bills.
Given that the Bills turned down Williamson's demand for an extension with this being the last season of his current one, wouldn't you just love it if they had a great season, if he refused to sign a new one and waited for offers. Or do you think the NFL Owners are too "close-shop" to accept that sort of behaviour?

Depends how many other head coaches are being shown the door, to be honest, I think My guess is Holmgren goes this year, then Allen might jump at a slightly more open offense like that of Buffallo's...

A bit more chat from Vic Carucci about the Dolphins.
This time focusing on Jay F as the starter

fair enough... and as you mentioned Holmgren, who would you like to see replace him, if it comes to that?

Been there, done that, thanks. I don't want another four years of that. What amazes me about him is that the 49ers are *still* being tipped for a higher finish in the division than us.
Frankly if Rhodes can't get this defence to stop leaking and Holngren can't this offence on track (neither side of the ball is exactly untalented), then it's time to scrap the franchise, I reckon...

... because for the last two weeks or so I seem to be the only one who ever posts anything around here ... so I'll talk about what I want, where I want

My SB prediction has killed the team's karma in fantastic fashion. 14 players are unable to perform at this time due to injuries. That list includes such linchpin performers as Mark Dixon, Jay Fiedler, Patrick Surtain, Brock Marion, and both FBs, Konrad and Dyer.

We're currently awaiting MRI results on Dixon... unless you've seen something I haven't.
If he's lost, that's a huge blow to a good but thin offensive line. Who starts at LT now?

Must have been an initial prognosis I saw, i think. MRI scans not generally seen as good thing though...
That is pretty impressive to have that many injuries already...

It's better than that. I misquoted the article. It's 16, not 14.

Dixon has a stress fracture in his ankle and just underwent surgery to remove bone chips and spurs from said ankle. At the moment there is no word on how long he'll be out for but it is expected to run into the regular season.
Right now, Waanstedt and Spielman are talking up the abilities of rookie Wade Smith. He lacks upper body strength, is raw and only played LT for one year at Memphis (although he played TE for two...). He was supposed to learn for a year and spend a lot of time in the weight room... he now has to start, and his first assignment? Hugh Douglas of Jacksonville this week... could be a major confidence killer..
There's not much available on the FA market... an overwight (360), under-conditioned Richmond Webb appears to be the best remaining. There is some talk of a trade for Derrick Deese although I read that Kwame Harris was not to hot for the 49'ers in his first outing...
Spielman has also recently inferred that it may still have been possible to complete all the off-season moves the Dolphins made if they had signed Wayne Gandy to the money he received from NO.
Cheers Rick....
On top of all this, TE and long-snapper Ed Perry is out for the season and Marco Battaglia is seriously considering retirement - so the Fins need a new TE.
Top draft pick Eddie Moore as dislocated the middle of his foot and has been placed on IR... there goes our top backup OLB...
Happy days in Miami right now...
Good news... Jay Fiedler is back at practice follwing his back spasms. He suffered no pain and has looked extremely sharp and mobile... shame there's no-one to protect his blindside...

I'm guessing he may well be suffering from spasming backside in that Jags match, not just a spasming back...
Doesn't look a pretty picture. What'll you give us for Walter?
How 'bout dem Dolphins?
FiedlersFizzle Posted Aug 12, 2003
Spielman has stated that with the money both Walter and Orlando want they are both currently off the radar screen.. and with the Fins already projected at $20m over the 2004 cap, I can understand why...

Hmm, well, I can increasingly see Walter sitting this season out anyway...
They are talking up Pork Chop something rotten in pre-season and training camp...
