h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Well, the divisional playoffs sat quite well with me. Of my pre game decisions on who to support, only the Falcons let me down. Quite frankly, though, it didn't really matter what happened as long as the Jets lost, and in the 2nd half, the discovered a far better and supremely talented Raiders team who were a bit p****d off with the tied halftime scoreline I think... to the Silver and Black.

Just to show how fickle support for other teams is, as the 49'ers/Bucs game kicked off, I decided to switch allegiance to SF. I found that Terrell Owens doesn't annoy me as much as I admire Garcia, Hearst, Peterson and others... and that was the end of their playoff advancement... Still, with the result pretty much decided at halftime, I found peace with a Bucs win after seeing that interview (on British TV) with LB Derrick Brooks and discovering just how much of an articulate, intelligent and all-round decent chap he is. If he got a ring come years end, it would more than make-up for the sight of Warren Sapp prancing around after the SB.

So, all in all, I'm pretty happy after the weekends games... and next week?

Well, I'm thoroughly undecided right now. I expect both to be a game time decision. I am, however, guarunteed to see two SB participants I have not previously witnessed - make a change from all those Cowboys/Bills games eh?

Addendum: I have, of course, seen the Titans in the SB, but I quite like them... they usually tussle with NYG for the position of my second favourite team, so that's okay..

What I meant to say (honest) is that I'm gaurunteed to witness a team winning the SB that I have not previously...

Is there a more easily unlikeable team in the league right now than the Bucs? Warren Sapp and Keyshawn Johnson on the same squad. If it weren't for guys like Brooks, Lynch, and John Gruden, I'd wish them only injuries in the playoffs.

There hasn't been a team this unlikeable since Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin joined Nate Newton and Jerry Jones on the Cowboys.

Whilst I agree with you regarding most of those players, I was actually a big fan of Deion... don't ask me why, I usually can't stand that kind of self promoting, obnoxious jerk (although I'll forgive them if they play for Miami)!! I guess I'm of the opinion that the excitement he brought to the game outweighed his negatives.

You're right though, a few less Sapps and Johnsons of the Keyshawn variety and more Brooks', Lynch's and Johnsons of the Brad variety would make the Bucs a highly supportable team!!

Talking of Prima Donnas, WR is the King amongst positions with the most... but how about TE as a new pretender? Jeremy Shockey, Randy McMichael... even Tony Gonzalez with his holdout got into the act before the season. And of course, what more needs to be said about Shannon Sharpe?!!

Okay. I've had a bit of lunch, so I'm feeling a little better.

I'm just tingling about this Sunday, so it's kind of hard to keep focused. But I think it'll be a great game.

Hmm, well three out of four ain't bad, and frankly I still don't know how the Pack gave up that glorious record to the Falcons...

I mean, even WE beat the Falcons!
