Amfoot Trivia Question 0005
FiedlersFizzle Started conversation Nov 20, 2002
Another draft influenced question.
Not as ballyhooed as the QB's of '83, but in 1988, six WRs were selected in the first round. Again, names and teams please.

Well I can name three/four of them and their teams ... that should setup for the points
Tim Brown - LA Raiders
Sterling Sharpe - Green Bay Packers
Michael Irvin - Dallas
Seattle had one of them - possibly Joey Galloway

So did the Chargers - blanking on the name, though.

I think I noticed the Seattle chap had moved onto the Broncos or possibly the Chargers a couple of seasons back.
Wasn't Andre Rison - Indianapolis another?

I'll let you know which one's are wrong, as before though, I guess it is first to complete the list.
San Diego is one of the teams, who was the player though?
Not Seattle, they didn't have a first rounder and chose Brian Blades with their 2nd round pick.
Andre Rison was chosen by Indianapolis... in 1989
(Just ask if you need a clue)

These draft pick questions are realy out of my league. I never keep track of those things, and I fear that even if I did, I'd not remember much of it..
Amfoot Trivia Question 0005
Bright Blue Shorts Posted Nov 20, 2002
No clues yet ...
Brian Blades that was him. I wouldn't have remembered that until about Friday
Didn't Rison get traded to Atlanta for their 1990 1st round pick - Jeff George.
As for that Charger bloke, I remember him burning us for a TD possibly on kickoff returns.
I have a suspicion and it is only that ... that one of the WRs was picked by New England or the Jets
Amfoot Trivia Question 0005
Bright Blue Shorts Posted Nov 20, 2002
Was Brian Brennan one of them, or have I just made him up?
Amfoot Trivia Question 0005
FiedlersFizzle Posted Nov 20, 2002
Not New England, they took Hart Lee Dykes but again in 1989 (You're right about Rison and George though, also, Chris Hinton found himself traded again as part of the deal)
Jets, I believe, took Al Toon in 1985 and no WR's unitl Keyshawn in 1996
Not Brian Brennan, but you didn't make him up Cleveland Browns in late 80's along with Webster Slaughter!!
Amfoot Trivia Question 0005
Bright Blue Shorts Posted Nov 20, 2002
Not Webster "Lockup your Daughter" Slaughter ...
How about Andre Reed - Buffalo? When was he drafted?
Amfoot Trivia Question 0005
Bright Blue Shorts Posted Nov 20, 2002
Did Detroit get one of them? Or was that the year they picked up Brian's brother, Bennie?
Amfoot Trivia Question 0005
FiedlersFizzle Posted Nov 20, 2002
Bennie it was, although they did get Brett Perriman somewhere in that draft (2nd I think)
By the way, where's ?
Amfoot Trivia Question 0005
Researcher Eagle 1 Posted Nov 20, 2002
Where've I been in this conversation or in general?
In terms of draft trivia, I'm not that good (though still contemplating if I know the other two draftees).
In general, I'm only on H2G2 while at work.
Amfoot Trivia Question 0005
FiedlersFizzle Posted Nov 20, 2002
Have you not been at work today or does your work actually involve work of an interesting and distractin nature?!!!
I'm usually on H2G2 only at work also, though my job is a little less engaging where I am only required to answer telephone calls and amuse myself in between!!
