I work with kids, so come up against this all the time.
At a fancy dress do one of the staff dressed as a punk - none of the kid knew what she was - they thought she was a clown.

Added sort of tied in with other suggestions about fashions designed to shock, which is what I have added.
What sort of kids do you work for who thought a Punk was a clown! but there again I do find clowns strange and disturbing so maybe a punk clown would be a cool thing.

Old computers are something that need explaining: 5" floppys; having games on a cassette; ticatape; using portable tv's as monitors; not having a monitor and having a teleprinter instead - all things that kids have no idea existed.
Also past politics: What strikes are; what superpowers were; what communism is; what nuclear weapons are; that people used to have their own oppinions; (maybe that last one is just me being jaded.
Television having closedowns, only being on for a few hours in the day and in the evening, rather than 24 hours. The test card. The national anthem at closedown.
And the saddest of all...

Books.
I was comming out of a bookshop last year and a young kid outside was tugging on his mums sleeve and saying "Mum can i go in there and look at all those videos."
Equally - L.P.'s and singles, cassettes, 8-track, video tapes. All practically gone allready in the DVD-CD revolution.
