Pick that domain name, let me pay the first year, and you can have unlimited e-mails.

Side-note: I do NOT offer head-ache tabs to accompany the e-mail flow smiley - winkeye

Hi Nick, that won't be necessary, we have plenty of email addy's via our own site.

Thank you for your generous offer.

Ah well then, if a site has been made (stand-alone, etc) then all is cool. I've offered the hosting for the Consortium for some time now, independent of all else. Their own 'corporation' to stand along with Robby, Noesis, etc. The offer stands.

Oh, dear. This is disturbing. The Noesify forums are blocked by the nanny filter here at work under the category "Games".

CZ, there is a dedicated area within Noesis for Games, so maybe that is tripping your 'nanny filter' ?

Probably so. I can get to the Noesify main page, but not the forums.

This is something that we'll have to consider. As long as there aren't any games on the h2g2.com site I don't think it will be an issue.

What makes you think the Consortium wants or needs separate web hosting, Nick?

Count Zero, although h2g2 will be hosted on Noesis servers, it shouldn't be associated with the Noesis forums in any way. I don't think you'll be able to tell, looking at it, that it is on Noesis. So the current rating of Noesis shouldn't affect the rating of h2g2.

It will affect your ability to get to s2g2 (somewhere to go to) during the interim period when the site is down, though.

That's my conclusion as well, Gnomon, as the filter is not blocking "noesify".

Nick, the buttons are here: http://www.h2g2c2.co.uk/?pid=9

The cosortium's site is http://www.h2g2c2.co.uk and has been since February or so.

You've made your offer several times, but we currently have a policy of only accepting no-strings money. So money ear-marked specifically for hosting or domain names or whatever is not acceptable.

Cheers

Ben

I was told today that my http://www.anyneed.net site is blocked by the nanny filter at the Johnson Space Center. Presumably, because it has games on it.

I think the light hearted attitude of h2g2 might cause us a few problems down the line as well. After all, we do have the games room on here and some of the virtual world of h2g2 might also get us flagged for blocking. Once that stuff is seen by an IT dept. it's hard to convince them of the need to be allowing h2g2 as an information source. I think we're going to have to do a lot of promoting of the serious bits of h2g2 now we're not part of the BBC, but then, we knew that was going to happen all along, didn't we?smiley - sadface

The "Games" we have here shouldn't get us flagged as they're just text and not java, flash or other plugin type games.
