Hey anyone else got any ideas how to get the rest of this done.
All reasonable suggestions considered.

Greetin's!
Fings that might be 'elpful, part one...
"Being in the nuddy" is (I think) lounging around naked.
Fings that might be 'elpful, part two...
See A718049 for info on Steve Biko.
Fings that might be 'elpful, part three...
Coming out of chokey is being released from prison.
Perhaps a short intro to Ian Drury and the Blockheads (although that needs an entry of its own!)

Good I didn't realise until I did a search for My Donald Woods article and didn't see Biko in the refed articles when I updated.

you have got the bit about smallpox wrong. it is not a chemical weapon, it is biological one.
also you fail to mention the possible sexual connotation of the phrase "a bit of come and share it".

I think the song was called "Reasons to be cheerful, Part Three".
There are lots of spelling mistakes, but I'm sure you can tidy these later. This looks good. Are you looking for explanations of the ones you haven't explained yourself?

interesting piece,
i was misled by the title, though. It doesn't do what it says on the tin, as it stands. *Ian Dury's * in front, perhaps?
Like Gnomon, i was wondering if you are 'stuck' on the rest, or just not finished yet...

There are edited entries on Smokie A721153 and John Coltrane A807392. Coltrane was more famous for Tenor Saxophone, but I suppose he must have played Soprano Sax as well.

I'm not finished but may be stucking on a few so any help would be appreciated.

Well, Gigolos and brasses (rhyming with 'bottoms'! ) are working lads and lasses, respectively.
'Lighting up a chalice' must Shirley be a ref to the funny fags. <O
obviously not a big plainsong fan, or he wouldn't have been able to resist the Thomas
your 'Domitrie' sounds like it could be 'Dimitri', the Russian first name... ? As for Pascale? needs a search...
oh, and Woody All*E*n,

DD - sorry to dampen the occasion, but like Newton and the other person whose name escapes me at this moment, another person has come up with the same idea as you:

But did Dave Gorman write an H2G2 Article about it.
NO!!!
He merely lived his life according to it.
So my article stands.

Fair enough - but throwing a link to it might be nice, sort of 'other people have wondered whether Reasons to Be Cheerful the song does provide real reasons to be cheerful...'
Stay ,

(PS - just to be pedantic, DG didn't live his life out to it, he took a similar approach to yourself, but with lots of graphs and slides )

There are a few spelling mistakes. The most important are:
To short to be haughty --> Too short to be haughty
To nutty to be naughty --> Too nutty to be naughty
Where you have:
Adie cello carno
Beuno Colino
another web site gives:
Adi Celentano
Bonar Colleano
I can't find out anything about Adi Celentano (if that is right), but Bonar Colleano seems to be a minor film star: http://www.classicvideo.ch/Films.cfm?ARG=Actor&TRM=Bonar%20Colleano
"Volari" might be "Volare" a song also known as "Nel Blu Di Pinto Di Blu". It is in either Spanish or Italian and was written by Domenico Modugno and Francesco Migliacci. I never heard of it until recently when Pavarotti started singing it, but it must have been well known long ago, because Randy Newman sings a quote out of it in his album Little Criminals in the Song "Kathleen".

La Vincent motorcycle could be Vincent Motorcycles - a line of classic motorbikes founded by Phillip Vincent in the 1920s; a potted history can be found here:

Is Dimitri and Pascale a reference to Dmitri Mendeleev of periodic table fame (A592913), and Blaise Pascal of the triangle (A577082) and wager fame (A517646)?

Cheers WD I thought that was the motorcyle reference and I concur that the most likely Dimitri and Pascal will be those two.
