I hope this isn't too unhelpful, but I've just read this as a layman and I remain none the wiser. (I am a bit of a skimmer as a reader though).
Do you think some more down-to-earth introduction is required?

If I use it to order a pint, will I get
(a) decked
(b) arrested
(c) served
?

Well, if you read the intro over, you'll see it's written code that tells geeks about other geeks, so if you manage to find a way of using it to order a pint, I'll be impressed

Has anyone done anything to advance the h2g2 Code idea? Now I've got the idea into my head, it's sounding better.
We could create categories for everyone's standing in the thingites, nighthooverr-cult etc. etc., plus their generalised opinion towards italics, volunteers etc. If anyone does anything, let me know.

I got as far as creating an entry... and then I ran out of energy. In addition to what Master B mentioned there should be info about your other activities: Writing for fun, for the edited guide, to exercise(sic) your inner demons. Participating in peer review, CWW, trawling for typos to report to editorial feedback. Some of these, like peer review are particularly suited for the pr++ syntax.

I was hoping you'd take on the responsibility. But it's at A845534. Maybe dropping it into the collaborative writing workshop would be the best way to draw interrested people to contribute.

Just removing based on Montague's comments. This currently being the only way to stop an entry being picked before I'm ready.

Hi All,
Never one to resist a challenge, I have begun work on creating a h2g2 code. Find work in progress at A855641

I'm hoping to encourage some widespread use when it's finished - probably via the Post. Although it may well be PR worthy (in the light of this thread) as well.
