Blobs to Order

I'm preparing to update an old article in the Edited Guide. I plan to use some images from another website as illustrations, the reason for this is the article is about colour, and the images in question have some very specific colour calibrations I want to preserve. (They are altered spectrum ranges)

I've contacted the website, and made sure there are no copyright issues and there aren't.

So the last step is to ask how do I go about taking the images and getting them uploaded to h2g2?

Obviously this is a facility I don't want to abuse but I think these images are not just decorative but are integral in making the article as informative and importantly accurate as I can. It's one thing to talk about reduced frequencies of light, another to show what this means in practice.

Thanks.

Clive. smiley - rainbow

I've just re-read the stuff on intellectual property and I think it should be fine.
The text will all be mine.

The author of colourblindness website the images are taken from has agreed to my using them, and I intend to credit the pictures and ink to the website in any case.

The images Anthea can confirm this are colour graphs, not of people or products or images from films for which there would be obvious copyright issues.

I think we are covered. smiley - ok

I've learnt a lot about my own colourblindness recently, and I've been itching to get it all into the Guide.

In particular it's the explanation of the iso-chromatic lines of confusion that inform the colourblind tests and which explain the phenomena of colourblindness that I want to get across.

Those graphs will I hope demonstrate why people with colour vision deficiencies see the way they do and why we experience the problems with colour codes, colour names, contrast, etc.

If you want to have a bit of fun - try taking these tests, they'll form part of my guide entry.

Confirms what I already knew. I can't tell red, from black for toffee.
