Just because I don't believe that there is a god in the sense that most religions do, does this mean that I am an athiest?

I think this makes you agnostic or perhaps undogmatic, depending on how exactly you feel about it.

Is it maybe organized religion that you don't believe in rather than the existence of a supreme being(s)? This would make you undogmatic.

Or is it that you make no proclamations one way or the other about it? Which would be agnostic.

I believe an atheist doesn't believe in a supreme being, period. IMHO anyway. To be honest I don't really get into conversations on this subject matter so this is just my thoughts on it.

not all religions have a god. atheism is the believe in nothing. there aren't any gods in buddhism. just bcz ur believes don't fit in with any of the major religions doesn't mean u r an atheist, it simply means u r an individual who thinks for themself.

Technically, atheist is not believing in any god or supreme being. I know next to nothing of Buddhism, so I can't comment on how that relates to atheism.

It sounds like you're probably agnostic; not being sure whether there is any god. OTOH, if you believe in a god/gods, but don't follow the teachings of any religion, you're, well, a theist who doesn't follow a particular religion. Someone mentioned the word undogmatic earlier, that's probably what should go here.

Perhaps it's worth stating what you *do* believe. From the sound of it, you may have a spirituality that is not religious.

In reply to the last posting, I believe that everyone deserves a fair and just go in life. Descrimination and bias should be left at the door when you leave the house. No one shoud be subjected to slurs because you yourself are not perfect. I also believe that we as a race are noty the product of an exp,losion. As nice an answer that would be I believe that life is eratic and fragile, much more so than the ever expanding universe. I hope that helps people see where I stande. Once again, thanks
