Maybe you could get a certain amount of DNA pounds/dollars (the Terrania versions) as an incentive to create and maintain place pages. I.e. to run the luxury hotel you could get 50 DNA's for setting up the page and if you could get more DNA's for keeping the place going, or deduct some for poor service (not updating the page when necesary). Of course if no one goes there you can't deduct any, as it may not be their fault. Though you could give some incentive to get people in.
Theres only one problem though, they will need to be able to spend their DNA's for some reason. I think we need to think about that.

COMPETITIONS!
we have regumar competions for people to gamble and win more money or lose money. we can also have money for housing (rent) of course. depending on the size of your house, the rent is different. that means we need to produce a list of diferent p0ossible house sizes and rent amounts.
also, good thig about people getting money for creating and running pages. however, they lose money if people don't use it much because they are not advertising it, as they also get money for god advertisement.

well, at first, they have to pay for their house. we could have auctions for items. we could sell . we could do almost anything and make terrania into the place we wish the world was like.

*really liking this idea*
Yes and the places they could run could do services as well, where they charge a chosen amount of terranic pounds etc. to do that service and then the people would get that and service and- perhaps that's too much like the real world.
Maybe we should just stick to the said things then...

I like this idea too: except that I think that the houses should be free: as we need something to start off with!
So: What do people want to run?

What about them?
How are people's houses coming along: I've read a preliminary of Quille's, and it's coming along nicely!

I don't like the if yo're idle you loose money thing..
That's making it too much like online gaming, where you level and level and level and it never really matters because there's always some b@stard who's sitting on his computer all day and then he's all srts of leveled and he comes over and stomps on your head and then you die.
That's what I son't like about it.
I think that balances should stay the same, reguardless if you haven't posted in a few days.

Maybe if you spend it. You know, like in real life.
*shrugs*
Things cost money, you know?

I'll give a warning. I tried to start an organised system with the Knights, and if you are really serious, you'll have to put a lot of work into it. The simpler things are, often the more fun they are.

I think I see what you mean... I put alot of effort early on with the Terranic amry, and that was when I didn't know that much about GuideML. But I think it paid off. I have a horrible feeling that I may have to "take the bull by the horns" with this one as well maybe. I'll see how much Spook and FWT do first.
oh and -
Spook(orangefish II) & FWT : Don't you think we should give Admiral Articuno rights to the construction user as well?
