Actually I think you're wrong. The only agressive piranha is the red bellied piranha. I expect that's what Ralph threw in your pool, and I'm fairly sure that's a fresh-water fish. I saw a documentary on them eating things. They live in slow moving rivers in South America.
Although their reputation for eating people is excagerated they did eat 300 people alive when their boat overturned.

No, I think you'll find that as long as it was oxygenated the piranhas would be able to live in it.
Now if it was HO on the other hand it would be a different matter entirely.
