I love Halloween!
I carved some pumpkins using some patterns I found on the internet the last week, I couldn't decide where to put them, after all my effort I wanted people to see them, so I tied them to the bottom of my hanging baskets at the front of the house!! They looked great!
For the last couple of years we haven't had many 'trick or treaters', but i always buy a biggest bag of assorted mini mars bars, twix etc. I can find and some pick and mix just in case!
We had about 30 in the space of 1 hour and then nothing until I got a knock at the door about 8.45pm, I was fully dressed up in my costume for the Party Saturday night, and greeted two lovely girls at the door, who also had pretty impressive costumes on!!
Because it was getting late and I couldn't see any more children milling around I told them to grab a handful......
They were very excited about this and then one of the girls shouted 'hey over here'......... I'm not joking, there were in total 28 children that came running to my door!!!
All but two were very curteous, the kids said that i was the best house they had been to!!
But what was really nice is that about 10 minutes later there was a knock at the door, it was one of the 'supervising' parents who had also come to say thanks....
Definately make it all worthwhile

Yup, we had about a dozen kids come by, all with parents nearby. A good time was had by all ...
My wife also assembled a yarn "spider web" at the nature center where she volunteers ... the several busloads of early teen kids who showed up for a school trip found it the best spot for "photo-ops".
