Things in "our SHADOW" threads have been quiet for a while

I know I certainly am invisible to many people. Grey-haired-lady-over-60 syndrome. But that's what this place is based on, IIRC.

Still here.However in real life I have lost my husband of 46 years and I'm somewhat unable to raise much whimsy at the moment.Too busy trying to fill in a really annoying questionnaire designed to drive me crazy with the required number of proofs possibly to receive no pension at all(dratted civil service). Just tell me I'm not eligible already so I can save my energies for what is really important.

Thankfully both of us had gone for the no fuss,no service kind of funeral.Much cheaper and I can have some sort of memorial party at a time of my choosing and when I feel able to do so.

And I'm thankful for the blessing of my son who has been a Trojan in the support he has given me(in regards to the dratted forms) and in so many other ways.My daughter has also been a wonderful support despite living so far away and trying to run her own business and bring up my two grandchildren.

Thankfully we had already paid off the mortgage and have no vast debts to cover and thus far there have been no unpleasant surprises. William was so well organised that everything/documents I required were filed and to hand.

We have been married 46 years now, too, and are going through the process of preparing for what is inevitable. We can be proud and grateful for children who rally round, especially as they are at the time in their lives where they are most busy.
