I am being dragged OUT kicking and screaming.I hate smoky noisy places especially when said noise is some usually very bad overloud combo that can't play anything I like even half way decently.Grump.

Seems that I'm going to be running all my daughters to see the new year in with their friends, then running round picking them all up again afterwards. 
So no traditional excesses for me then !

We're lucky. No. 1 (21 years old) is invited out but has a intestinal flu (or whatever you call it) No 2 has just set off on foot for a 1 hour walk to his party - will probably get a lift home.
Littl'un is asleep at the moment, but some friends are coming later with kids of his age, so he will be up then.
People have been letting off bangers all afternoon and evening - it'll get worse at midnight, but some people have no patience!

Sounds as though it was a godd party. Humble jalopies fur not turning up. 
I didn't get round to sending out any Christmas cards either - but I doubt anyone will notice the lack.

Well blow me!I get dragged out against my better inclination and just when I start to enjoy myself my husband is getting quieter and quieter.I ask him if he's ok and turns out he's started with the old shiver and shakes.Prompt collapse of party and him.
Oh well guess he had to put up with me feeling lousy over Christmas so turn and turnabout.
Perhaps next year we will be in synch.

Best wishes for 2003 to everyone.
After a day of cooking & assembling delicacies (delivered by Tesco - wonderful internet supermarket shopping), we had a very pleasant if relatively quiet evening - 2 youngest off on PS2 upstairs, circa 18 yr olds played musical instruments (out in barn)/cards/trivial pursuits, we aging swingers just chatted (& ate & drank of course). I'd have quite liked to join in the games, but thought I ought to do the hostessy bit with my contempories.
Having more trouble than usual co-ordinating my fingers today, had to re-type most of this. 
Now to tackle the washing up, red wine stains, crumbs in the carpet..........

Happy new year all, although after getting called out TWICE by work this morning it wasn't me on call I am feeling decidedly un-festive. That being token single male in the pub / party last night! PAh well, my first sorta party at the house and it is still very tidy! I am impressed! Ah well, another year uder the bridge as it were

Well finally achieved a New Years resolution-not to be hungover on New Years Day.
Feeling good,quaffing a WHOLE bottle of Champagne to myself(he MUST be ill)just chilling out here.Eldest off at Brighton for New Year so no sibling rows to mar a nice quiet afternoon.

Well just been sorting my other New Years resolution which is to get Broadband organised.
However as we are talking NTL here I shall let you know whether they actually turn up on the set date or p*ss me about as is their wont according to ntlhellworld.I only had to sit and wait for about 20 mins on the phone which I count as a lucky omen.
Eldest returns this pm from Brighton.No more peace and quiet until the 13th when she returns to London.
