as soon as I went to bed last night I developed the 'cough'.The sort that only appears when you lay down.So eventually to spare the old man I took the dreaded original may make you drowsy cough mixture.BIG mistake as I was struggling to wake up at 10.30am only to discover that I have the sort of neck ache where one has to turn the whole of one's upper body to converse or look at anything.I fed the hordes and went back to bed.I'm awake now but thoroughly miserable.

Finally sorted the bad back situation.I will lie on my back and snore and he will either have to lump it or sleep downstairs.Anything not to be in pain.
With any luck I will be back to normal by the time I go to see The Two Towers on Sunday.Enjoyed watching the special extended dvd of the Fellowship on Christmas Eve.
Anyway I've thrown out the leftovers to the birds(the cats are having a whale of a time)so now I have to sort out the damned turkey in my own kitchen.Next year I'm having duck.

I've come for some R&R in between visitors. I'll make some
So far OK, everyone has been fairly relaxed over Christmas, no-one got cross with anyone, no awful disasters happened. Just feeling a bit bleary after days of entertaining visitors, too much food & drink, staying up late & getting up late AND MY MICROWAVE HAS DIED
Went to see Two Towers yesterday - brilliant! Hope you enjoy it Incog.

God - life without a microwave. I would be lost if the kettle went and I didn't have anywhere else to boil the water.
*Swigs coffee* Just what I wanted. Thanks!

... I mean, when my kettle gives up the ghost, which it often does, I pop a Pyrex jug of water in the microwave. Saves going out in the garden and lighting a fire and rigging up a Girl Guide tripod and danglling the camping kettle over it. Although the tea might taste nicer?

Never thought of that!
Our kettle dies frequently too (very hard water) - we boil up in a saucepan on the hob. But I do miss the microwave for cups of cocoa, cooking a few peas, defrosting things.
My son has a theory that the newer machines are, the less time they last. I'm inclined to agree with him!

** Has sudden, disturbing vision of voice coming from inside kettle saying "I'm well 'ard, I am!" ** No, it's ok, I know what you mean.

Standard policy I thought, why make something that'll last a life time and only get bought once by each customer, when you can make it cheaper and only last a year or two and thus ensure continued income throughout the years? Damn money-grabbing capitalists!
Sorry, got given 'Stupid White Men' for christmas and have read it 9in all of about 2 days!).

Hullo, all! Just popping in to see if the cleanup went OK, say thanks for the party - a most enjoyable evening - and check there's enough teabags to last.
Went to see the Two Towers a couple of days ago... I want an ent! Can I hae a retrospective Christmas prezzie? Maybe there's one going cheap in the sales?

I watched The Two Towers on 20 December. Blew my socks of it did!!
I then got special extended of the Fellowship for Christmas. YAY!! I loved it. I've seen it about 4 times since then.
I also got the Playstation 2 game of The Lord of the Rings. I'm not very good at it though, but hey, time will tell.
Did everyone have a good Christmas?

Mrs Disorganised and I went to see the Two Towers whilst you lot were over-indulging here - didn't blow my mind the way TFOTR did, but still really good.
Kids got Two Towers on PS2 & Fellowship of the Ring - They got me Lord of the Rings boxer shorts.

So how are you all seeing the New Year in?
We've got a couple of families coming round (youngsters all know each other well) for drinks & nibbles & who knows what.
