On the whole I think it would have been better to have left this in Peer Review. By the time this gets back there it will have this thread, the original PR thread, and your 'Removed from Peer Review for further work' thread hanging off it, which is all rather convoluted. Never mind...

So when you say you've "got hold of some more information which I am going to be adding in soon" - have you done this yet, or are you waiting for some feedback here?

You need to add some little explanation of 'Meduna' and 'catatonic state'

One tiny point - should this be spelt as Electro-Convulsive rather than all one word?

Other than that I am looking forward to seeing your extra information.

I think the personal experience section at the end is just fine, and quite sufficiently balanced. Other people might well post their own experiences to the entry when it's in the Edited Guide.

Achem, sorry for the convoluted nature of all of this!

I have now added in the extra information, mainly about the two different types of ECT and some more on the history (which is all rather nasty). I took it out of peer review because so many people came up with good ideas to add in so don't want to re-submit it until I have some other feedback and have ironed out most of the problems.

a couple of minor points.

the paragraphs about unilateral and bilateral ect could do with being swaped, as the unilateral paragraph seems independent, but the bilateral paragraph seems to refer to the unilateral one quite a bit, so swaping them would probably improve readability.

also you might want to link to the edit guide entry about absinthe over at A631630
