Mr. Dreadful - But really I'm not actually your friend, but I am...

Hey GT,

I'm afraid this isn't quite done and dusted...

While recipes are found in the EG, there are a few <./>HouseRules</.> issues that need clearing up (particularly the first person bits at the beginning) and it needs formatting rather than being in plain text.

Other than that it sounds yummy! smiley - ok

The entry should probably be about Bacon and Tomato Pasta - we don't tend to have recipes branded with Researchers' names. smiley - smiley

Hi GT

Just a couple of comments:

Your opening paragraph needs to set the scene a little. Maybe explain the sort of evening that this might make a good supper for? ie cosy supper for two without too much need for complicated ingredients - not too much shopping etc? I sort of imagine that you could very well make this dish from the contents of a normal refrigerator and store cupboard. So, maybe it would be one of those stand-by recipes that it is really useful to have?

Apart from that, (as was mentioned when the title change was suggested) you really need to de-personalise the wording in the Entry. smiley - smiley

I also think that if you read through the instructions in the recipe (which I think are very clear smiley - ok)
that you could improve the sentence structure a little more by adding the word [the] before a lot of the words.

eg
Chop up bacon rashers into 1 - 2 cm squares, roughly dice onion

-----> Chop up [the] bacon rashers into 1-2 cm squares [and] roughly dice [the] onion.

I hope this makes sense? If not, just ask!

Gnomon - time to move on

The only problems I have with this are:

1. I think the phrase "handfuls of pasta" is a bit vague. I'd recommend 100g of pasta per person. Some people would like a little bit less than this.

2. It would have been better if you had left this in Plain Text. It's easier for a sub-editor to put something into GuideML than to remove all those BR tags and replace them with approved GuideML. That's not your problem, though, it is the problem of the scout who told you it had to be in GuideML.

Um, Gnomon, as the Scout that told GT that (having been out of the game for a long while and misremembering the Guidelines at the time of posting) I'm not sure how it's my "problem" given that I can't edit the entry and GT can just convert it back to plain text.

Gnomon - time to move on

Well, it's really the sub-editor's problem, as I would not expect the author to have to change it back after being told to change it in the first place.

Adjusted pasta measurement to read 'about 100 Grammes per person, Gnomon. That better?

Well, I'd say grams rather than grammes. The word grammes is so 1960s!

The more little edits you can do by yourself the better for the sub-editor.
