Every birthday I have recently has weirded by out. But I don't think you can measure your avchievements by compairing yourself to others (my own personal mantra). You are a unique individual, and life tends to drag any plans you have out of shape. So long as every so often you can look at what you have and smile I think your doing well.
As for age gaps, 6 years is diddly in the grand scheme of things, one of the happier married relatives I have have a 7 year age gap.
I think my only career goal so far is to end up working somewhere decent, interesting, where the pay is good and forget about career goals. I'd be interested in doing research into artificial intelligence, but I'm not sure I'm intelligent enough for that.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
