I'm not sure why this is considered ready for PR to be honest. Its factually wrong on most things, way to short and will need a lot more detail/info. before making it through PR. What little info there is, is confused, misleading and mostly inaccurate.
For starters, a pocket knife and a penknife are about as alike as chalk and cheese. The legislation, (here in the UK at least), is a minefield but draw a clear distinction between the two.

**24cm and shorter, you can carry it in your pocket, longer than that and you're a criminal)**.

Which countries legislation/law are you referring to here?
(anything longer than 3 inches, [7.5cm] in the UK and you're committing a criminal offence)

-----------------------------------------------

Sorry but this needs a lot more work/research.

I'm sorry, but we have an approved guide entry on Swiss army knives: A592724

Yours doesn't contain any additional or different information to warrant another approved entry. smiley - smiley

I think that entry could certainly do with an update, though - feel like adding something to it, Darren? smiley - ok

Since your post is currently not visible, I have no idea whom you addressed and what you said. Just to clear a few things, though:

I mentioned that there already is an approved entry. I didn't say anything about the quality of either entry. I merely stated a fact.

Each author has the right to know if there is an approved entry on the same subject before deciding how to go on. Unfortunately (as I saw later), Gnomon didn't check, so told you this was ready for PR.
With that in mind, I do understand your frustration about the comments you got. However, this is how PR works and what it is for.

I hope you stick with it, though, and get used to the way people criticise. Some may be blunt or even unfriendly, some factual, others nice. You'll meet all sorts.

The best way to deal with comments is to address all the points raised, preferably in a factual way, and not let off steam in PR. smiley - smiley

Regardless of what you can d with this entry, the subject is already covered in the Approved Guide. Thus, I'd say if Darren doesn't kindly pop back and remove it from Peer Review, it probably needs to go on a removal list.
