I have some hopelessly romantic stories... if you don't mind me joining the thread?

Hey Yankee-shoes

course we don't, get us back on track

My last year of highschool they have this banquet thing for the juniors and seniors (similar to the prom). It was going to be on a river boat, and is this big deal and I didn't have a date. My best guy friend was going to college in Texas (I live in Michigan) and heard through the parental grapevine I was going solo. So he called and asked me! He was working towards his pilot license at the time, and had an opportunity to fly solo for the first time (another chance wouldn't come for months)but he gave it up to take me. It was really fun, and he is really handsome, so everyone was really jealous. Very cinderella.

We're not allowed to bring outside dates to the 6th year formal (like a prom)

Technically we can't either, but he arranged it all!

He also broke up with this girl he really liked a lot on the spot because she said something mean about me. I couldn't believe it! She was pretty shocked too, and he did it right when she said it too, didn't take her aside or anything, it was just "okay, then it's over". He's a good friend.

I think if we were allowed to bring outside parties to the formal then I'd bring my mate Daniel, purely because he used to go to the high school I do and technically he should have been going to this one in the first place.

But it would be purely as a mate (dammit) so that he wouldn't miss out on the experience.

Are you stuck in the sister drawer too? I think mine has forgotten he holds the key.

Another terribly romantic moment with a platonic guy friend (different one):

I was telling him over the phone how I never expect people to stick around because sometimes God puts someone there for just that season in your life.
And he said "Lucky for you and me, Spring comes every year".
