Thanks, I really found your article very interesting. Having a 7yr old son who has ADHD, I found some of the newer methods of controlling the symptoms as well as the possible causes you mentioned, rather enlightening. Thank you

Having had 14 years of experience dealing with a child with ADHD I thought we knew all the possible triggers when we found out about the salicylates and the two year old became a model child (well... almost ) but we had a major setback about 15 months later and couldn't work out what had caused it.
It turned out that even the antibiotics prescribed to young children routinely contain azo dyes. How stupid can you get!
It is possible for doctors to prescribe antibiotics without added colouring but they won't do it unless you ask them to (and even then they treat you like a crank).
That yeast overgrowth sounds very interesting (speaking as an ex-child who suffered from both ADHD and repeated Candida infections).
I shall have to look into the amount of sugar my young addict is consuming.
