Having seen this performed as a child, the memory of it has stayed with me and so I thought I would attempt a guide entry (there doesn't seem to be anything on it at the moment).
I did a fair amount of research for this but am pretty sure there will be those of you out there who can fill in any of the more obvious errors/omissions

Hi Sprant,
Very well written article, and well-timed too, as I was just looking up whirling dervishes yesterday (had not a clue what they were).
This being the case, I also recognized a bit of the material you used here, although it hasn't been indicated as a quote. I'm sure that was unintentional Perhaps a few links or footnotes to your information sources would rectify that situation? At least for the bits where you quoted word for word. Would hate for the Beeb to get any heat over a simple oversight

Ohmigawd! Really? I read stuff from several websites and tried to amalgamate them into my own phraseology. I really didn't think anything remained of the original prose I don't even have the links anymore. Do you have them? I am happy to either re-write or accredit where appropriate.
Thanks for the heads-up

I figured you'd want to be aware
One mo while I check my history here...
<./>http://www.lesartsturcs.com/whirling_dervishes/jgreene.html</.>
and
<./>http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/dervish.htm</.> are two of the sites that I found (and found incredibly informative ).
If you read over them I'm sure you can pick out which phrases caught my attention
Not sure if you know any others that might warrant a credit. It might be easier just to rephrase, though.

Thanks for the links. I had not seen the first site but it does sound familiar - will work on revisions over the next day or two. Once again, thanks

Hi Sprant,
I posted under the entry yesterday, before you submitted this to PR. Would you mind having a look and posting the reply here?
Thanks.

Hi Zarq. Just found your entry Happy to link to your piece when I get around to revising this. Will make the other amendments also at that time. Due to an unfortunate set of circumstances however, the guys here at the office are insisting that I do some kind of actual work in return for my salary. I've been resisting manfully but they seem adamant Will prolly look at this again in the weekend.
Cheers

Well Sprant, what's the deal with this one? I for one I'm looking forward to seeing it in the Edited Guide.

Nah, I need to do some work on it - just haven't found the time yet. Thanks for the interest guys, I'll let you know when I get a round tuit.
Now, sort the dentist thing out before I do some sort of Baden-Powell meets Hungerford thing and kill you all!
