the incomproble tony boyd and his ever present need for a 420 break Posted Sep 29, 2002
hey! it's an interesting report that i tottally agree with, being an avid cartoon lover. in fact right now i'm watching a 6 hour tape of adult swim. however i think that to become an edited report it needs to be unbiased and based on a more specific idea. i could be completely wrong of course. if you like the aqua teens check out the report i wrote on it and let me know what you think of it. sniff you jerks later.

Hi, MantraRay (lurve the name).
I liked this piece a lot. It is well written and done with an obvious affection for the subject matter. I will point out, however, that there is a general downer on using the first person for edited entries. If you intend this to go into the guide, it will need to be re-worked as a factual piece, preferably in the third person.
Also, there are already a couple of edited entries on cartoons (A201808 / A684416), although I think yours has a slightly different flavour. Perhaps you could change it slightly to focus on how the humour style has changed over the last 50 years or so whilst retaining its broad appeal (from BB through RR to the Simpsons/Futurama) which *might* be more acceptable to the scouts (they're a hard bunch ). You might also care to include links to the other, complementary entries.

Thanks for your advice on that one... I'm currently editing the article, so I'm gonna pull it from Peer Edit for now, then I'll put it back up once it's been reworked. Thanks again.

You don't have to pull it out of Peer Review every time you want to do some work on it, you know. You can leave it in and still edit it.

Bels is right - you can amend it whilst it's still in Peer Review. Who said we scouts were a hard bunch!

And we like our meat raw
Hello MantraRay, from a big fan of Adult Swim, Space Ghost, and especially Brak
It seems there are still some first person references to be taken out of your entry, but it's looking much better than when I skipped through it a few days ago. As it's a very American-centric piece, I think the title should reflect that. I don't ever recall Space Ghost being shown on British tv before I left the UK, but I didn't have satellite at the time, and I know that Cartoon Network is shown on BSkyB.
There are some judgement statements which will also have to be removed, such as "This was the most incredible idea ever conceived." in the section about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and "Nothing can compare to the time Space Ghost stood up to yell...".
Was The Critic originally on Fox? I never saw it then, only on late-Sunday night Comedy Central.
"In more recent years, we've been seeing a new type of cartoons...". What about Ren and Stimpy, Aah Real Monsters, Duckman, Rocko's Modern Life, Cow and Chicken ::AHEM:: A767289, and that weird one about fish detectives that sank without a trace (pun intended )
And let's not forget that this entry is largely about made-for-tv cartoons, and doesn't cover the extraordinary work of people like Don Herzfeldt http://bitterfilms.com/ and Bill Plimpton http://www.awn.com/plympton/
I'd like to see this entry on the front page, it's going to need a bit more work though

Thanks a lot to all of you for your suggestions. I've done a bit more work on it, and plan to keep at it in all my spare time that's not taken up by a guitar, bass, or (as has been common recently) a mandolin. I'm putting it back in peer review for now, so I can get more input on it, and since I'm not requred to take it out anyway. thanks again for all your help and encouragement, and I'll be sure to make sure I use as much of it as I can. Oh yeah... The critic was on fox a year or two before it was on Comedy Central... just not for very long. Atomfilms.com actually has a few new short episodes of it made solely for the internet. alright, thanks again for all your help, and I'll be sure to put it to use.

Atomfilms - yeah! I love Angry Kid, and without Atomfilms I wouldn't be able to continue watching Rex the Runt
And then there's the Bikini Bandits
