Anything and Everything!!

I've been lurking (Bannana and cherry). Oo now there's an experience. Hindu and Buddhist teaching says that what we see, hear feel etc. is not reality just a construct of our mind.
A question - is empty space really empty?

Actually the Buddhist position is not that dissimilar to my own position as a Kantian philosopher. The FORMS of our perceptions and cognitions (including space and time) are supplied by the mind. The world as it is in itself has its OWN logical structure, but this is not empirically knowable. As an empirical truth (the result of the interaction of things in themselves with the forms of our cognition) empty space is not empty - it has an energy density.
FwT: I probably won't be online again until Thursday evening, so good luck for E-Day! Let me know how it goes.

I got A B B, which means that I'm going to Leeds Uni to do human geography... after a year out!

I'm still quite shattered, because of work, and a lot of my friends had to phone up to confirm their places: it was the most emotional, tense and draining mornings...ever!

lots of theoretical ones at the moment: I've got to interview on a youth working job, and am going to go for another one, so that I can earn money and keep interested.
I'm also looking at some courses, ones that I couldn't have done during my A-levels. I'm looking at a photography, Tai Chi, and an online sustainability course!
I'm also looking at doing some travelling: I'm looking at doing Camp America, or hopefully to do some voluntary work with Tearfund... have sent off for a brochure...

Very worthy.
I was a bit puzzled by the idea of learning about online sustainability for a moment, but the penny dropped eventually.
I don't remember having those sort of opportunities when I was a lad.
The only (and I mean only) career advice I ever got was - look, you're an 8 stone weakling with a high IQ so it has to be heavy manual labour. (?)
No wonder the country's in a mess.

It didn't work. I didn't bulk up until I became a couch potato. (and not much then.)
From a misspent youth to a misspent middle age - and it all happened so fast.
I think I'll take a year out before I retire.
