It never fails to amaze me (after being at h2g2 for three years) just how much 'stuff' there is on this site that I still have not discovered.
Today, quite by accident, I stumbled across this page.
Your efforts to organise materials for those interested (and who isn't ) in our global habitat deserves more exposure, more promotion and greater participation (which would happen if more people knew about it).

Hi Jwf,
And thanks a lot for your comments! When I originally launched the page I got a lot of interest in it, but it has gone somewhat quiet since, due in some part to me, as I don't have a lot of time to update it (I still post news articles from the Beeb that are relevant, as it is a way for me to keep up to date on Earth-science related topics). I used to even write articles on recent events in The Post but I'm not sure how many people were reading them, and it was a lot of work for me to keep it going.
One of the things I would really like would be to get accounts from people who have witnessed major natural events - we had a forest fire last year in the US, where I actually got accounts from people who were living close to the fire itself. That was brilliant, and if anybody has an account that they want me to write up, I would be more than happy to do so.
I also think that this would be a good forum for people who are writing earth-science related articles for Peer Review, or The Post - I'm happy to advertise them if people would like.
I really appreciate your message - it is an incentive for me to keep it going. I might stick an add for it back in my nickname for a while, and might even consider getting another Post article ready over the next day or two.
Thanks a lot!
