Hi folks,
I humbly recommend this entry on one of my favourite films - the 1961 classic 'One, Two, Three' by Billy Wilder.
Be gentle!

I can't see why no-one's commented on this before. Be gentle doesn't mean ignore!
I've not seen the film (or even heard of it before). It looks interesting. Billy Wilder's films by and large are worth watching. Not sure where one would be able to view it, though.

Hey ZSF,
thanks for your comments. What you've said adds to my theory that 'One, Two, Three' is most popular in Germany, but is mostly unknown in the rest of the world. A pity, though.

Hi SchrEck
Sorry it's taken me a couple of days to post here, but can I just gently (!) say well done for a good Entry on a great film.
There are a couple of small points on wording:
"it is still a mystery up today how Coca-Cola could be persuaded to co-operate at that time"
I think it's probably better to say 'even today'
"Also, the opening lines of the films had to be added or altered, respectively."
Not quite sure what you mean here, but if you mean some lines had to be altered and some lines had to be added, it's probably clearer to put it like that.
It's worth mentioning that the person adding and altering the lines was Wilder himself, and that he was writer, producer and director. But Diamond also co-wrote and co-produced.
Also worth mentioning that the music was by Andre Previn.
In case people are unfamiliar with the name of Horst Buchholz, perhaps mention that he played Chico the cheeky young wannabe in 'The Magnificent Seven' the previous year.

Hi Bels,
thanks for your comments. I've now made some changes to some of the parts you mentioned, hope it's better now.

I'd never heard of the film either before reading this, but I'd love to see it now! Great entry, which should be added to the Edited Guide without delay!

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Well, I don't know if I'm posting in quite the right place, but...!
I think "One, Two, Three" is a great, great film. I first saw it at college in 1982. I purchased it on LaserDisc eight years later. I watch it every few months, enjoying it every time. The rapid-fire patter and the sheer nonsense of poking fun at Coca-Cola, rampant Americanism, western views of 1960 communisim, and everything just make it great. (Compare the three Russians in this film with the three Russians in "Ninotchka"... Hollywood Russians didn't change much between 1938 and 1961)
By all means, try to get it... especially the wide-screen version. It was definitely shot with the large view in mind, even if 80% of the film seems to be in McNamara's office.
I would love to hear anyone's comments on this film! write to me at [email protected].
Enjoy!

Hi John,
thanks for your posting, and welcome to h2g2! I see that this is your first posting here. What you're saying about 'One, Two, Three' are exactly the reasons why this film is one of my favourites.
Where to post: you could post anywhere you want, in any existing conversation or you start a new conversation. All the folks who had posted in an existing conversation before will automatically see your posting. The 'Peer Review' thingy, though, is a scheme to get entries 'approved' for inclusion in the Edited Guide. Once it is included, the Peer Review conversation gets outdated, and people are likely to ignore any postings here.

Researcher "200503"
would go back to there own page and then click on the "EDIT PAGE" button and then write a little something about your self then a ACE can come and welcome you there properly
Sorry for interrupting your conversation
