If aproved, the selection needs to be in the 'job' catagory and 'food' catagory since I work there and the food is ok.

I loved this Entry!
Sure, there are a few technical problems. You could try putting it into GuideML, which would help with the footnotes. But that's not essential - you could always leave it for a subeditor to do if the entry gets picked. Subeditors are those poor, tired, harrassed, overworked people who never get tips - you know? But the management usually treats them like human beings. And some researchers like to help out by using GuideML.

Please, what is 'chicken fried chicken'? Is that a regional speciality?

Hi Science girl!
This looks good! I like seeing non-UK stuff in the edited guide, and I think this has a good case for inclusion.
Just a couple of points, though.
1. You'll have to take out the swearing - they don't like it around here because some sensitive soul might see it, and because this is a family site. Apparently....
2. I wonder if you could cut down on the number of footnotes? They're quite difficult to read on-screen, because we have to scroll down rather than just look down.
Otherwise, looking good
Otto

Hiya!
Ok, chicken fried chicken is a patty of breaded chicken breast, breaded with bread crumbs and deep fried. After it is deep fried, you put white gravy with bits of sausage in it on top. Eat and enjoy.

The footnotes aren't nessicary, but I do like having all of them. I don't know how to do GuideML, so could someone help me out?

OK, you don't need to get hung up on GuideML. If the entry gets picked a subeditor will do that for you.
I love footnotes myself, but you have just too many at present. You need to put some of them into the text. Here's an example:
______________________
The first area of the Cracker Barrel is the gift shop of sorts, which you see when you walk in through the front door. It is filled with dishes, glasswear, decorative items, pillows and blankets that you would only see in your grandmother's house.
It also has candy and toys in plain view, placed at the eye-level of children. This is so that they can grab at it and drive their parents batty until the parent or legal guardian either gives in and buys them something (before or after dinner) or tells them to be quiet and ignores their plea for useless garbage or sweets. Most of the toys in the store are very cheap and designed to break .000001 seconds after you get the kid out of the store and the item out of the package.
There are also bulk items that are on the menu in the restaurant, such as the jellies and jams that come on the pancakes, or syrups that are offered in or on a number of dishes.
The trick about this is that anyone who sets foot in the store for breakfast or dinner must walk through the gift shop both before their meal and afterwards, making it twice as tempting to buy something since you have to see it twice.
_____________
That's just a suggestion, but you get the idea.
Footnote 12 is not needed. We all know an unpleasant remark when we hear one.
For me, you would need to insert a short explanation (in the text, maybe inside brackets like this) for chicken fried chicken (thanks for that one!), chicken fried beef, turnip greens, and hashbrown casserole.
In footnote (1) you need to take out the 'I'. So something like:
This is a very nice and clean store. The food is excellent. Please note that all Cracker Barrels aren't that clean, nor is their food that good.
These suggestions are just to bring this excellent entry into line with all the other Edited Guide entries. There's a lot more whys and wherefores about this: have a look at http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/Writing-Guidelines and
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/SubEditors-Style
It's looking good - just do what you can to make it even better.

Heh, I tell you what... I'll make an entry about all of the foods that you've asked about seperately... I'm sure if one person has asked me what they are, there are a hundred others who don't.

How's it going with the footnote/entry idea?

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Hello, everyone. GTBacchus, at your service!
Let's see here... A789951 is the location of the new version of this entry; the version which I'm subbing and which will go to the Front Page.
ScienceGirlMSU doesn't seem to have logged on since 9 June. I'm trying to get in touch with her via AOL IM, but if that doesn't work, I suppose I'll incorporate suggestions from Peer Review, that seem like good ones.
Anyone who wants to can look over my shoulder and post comments, corrections, or complaints here.
ScienceGirlMSU, when you return, if it's in the next few days, come and check out the progress of your entry! I'm having to take out the links to Grits and Southern USA Food, because those aren't Edited Entries, and that's the rule.
Meanwhile, I'm subbing away, here in Houston, Texas, which apparently has a few Cracker Barrels. Maybe I'll check one out tomorrow.
Thanks for the entry ScienceGirl, and I hope to hear from you soon!
