Am I allowed to join P.U.D.D.I.N.G.?
I am really good at being grumpy, and this is the first place (and undoubtedly the best place) I have found on hootoo to be grumpy.
If I am, can I have a badge, too? Would proudly wear it.
A quick grump before I go - what's happened to the Post? Was settling down with a cup of and a to read it this morning and it looks like loads of pages have been sensored. Is it me, have I missed something?
Thank you.

Disclamer!
Before reading this sermon, no animales was hurt in making this sermon
It’s been 5weeks since my little “op” and it’s healed up well (still not happy about the way I was ganged up on by the woman doctor and my partner) and my partner has changed her mind about it too, so this weekend her sister came over to stay with her boyfriend who was talked into the same little “op” by her, (sort of feels the same way as I do)! There the scene is set!
So this morning, I wander into breakfast, dressed in my t shirt and shorts, my partner was cooking and I let the dogs(GOD BLESS’UM) out for a whiz around the garden, sister was sat at the table, drinking a cup of tea with some toast, I walked over smiled and said morning she responded with a smile and in walked the boyfriend so there we all were, chatting and having breakfast, the dogs (GOD BLESS’UM) ask to come back into the house, so I get up to let them in and turning round I catch the eye of the sister and she winked and smiled a knowing smile! “WHAT” I said “nothing” with a knowing smile and a wink came the reply. So my partner looked at her sister and said “you can cut that out, I’ve told you earlier” drew breath and carried on “Its going to end in tears, your’s remember what I said if you start”! so I look at my partner and she shot me the (Don’t ask) look! The atmosphere changed and the tension between the sisters was not nice!
I carried on with breakfast and the air slowly changed back into something that went before this spat, so I asked if anyone wanted a walk before lunch? “yes” said Mike I’ll come! So the both of us got up and went to get changed, we were upstairs getting changed and there was almighty row going on in the kitchen between the sisters, so I went down, as soon as I opened the kitchen door it stopped and I just looked, “Just what is going on” I said and Neen said “You don’t want to know” then I saw the smile and had that wink again but this time it was for Neen’s benefit! Then Mike entered the room and said “Both of you sit down and sort it out, now”
Neen spoke first and was quiet upset and said that she did’ent plan my “op” and it was a mistake to go back and have it sorted out but her sister talked her into doing it! But I don’t like the look of it now its been done, and I wish I never listened to her! “I know all this” I said so what’s going on, there’s more to this I can tell, the next thing I hear is from Neen’s sister, well I like my men “cut” and all men should be “cut” weather they like it or not, and Mike you’re the 3rd I’ve got done and (points at me) you’re the 4th, “it tends to make controlling them easer”!said Sue. Neen said to her sister “I want you to leave my house now, right now and never come back” this was said with a quiet determination that I’ve never heard from Neen before and she looked at me, Mike looked at me and looked at Sue and went quite red and then left the room. Said nothing packed and left, so it was down to the three of us and I was speechless for the first time in my life I was really speechless. I sat down and just looked at Sue and wondered how someone can justify what she had just said and done to men, I know that my “op” was because of bad moles but then knowing that I already was “cut” then to talk her sister into having me “cut” again just to make it in the style that Sue likes, hoodwinking Neen too, something is wrong there! I asked her to leave, she left after another sort of row with Neen while packing.
So that what was wrong with Neen all these weeks thought it was just woman’s things but she was Kippered by her sister into something that she now can’t change! Now this is an extreme sort of thing but it begged a question “why do woman want to “control men” I just can’t understand it, even down to the type of jeans you wear, socks even! Very strange I would like to ask the females out in h2 for a response to this question! But I would like to say this, Sues behaviour is very extreme and I don’t want to imply that all woman are like that!
So please just answer to the bigger question! thank you!

Mustard Seed: of course you can join P.U.D.D.I.N.G. - and that's a very Personal Space you've constructed. I've added you to the list of members. Consider yourself one of the grumpy family.
Rev. Jack: your painful story is enough to bring a tear to the eye of any guy. It should, though, also be acknowledged that men being grimly determined to control 'their' women is not exactly an unknown phenomenon either. I suspect that it all has to do with the fact that people fear what they can't control and don't understand.
Or, as that Hero of P.U.D.D.I.N.G. Jean-Paul Sartre said: hell is other people.

That is very extreme behaviour indeed!
I must say, I never have the need to control anyone. Then again I'm single, perhaps this control thing comes with a relationship

Ormondroyd Posted Apr 5, 2004
A psychology student writes: yes, I think that being in a relationship has an awful lot to do with it. You've been single, you've been used to autonomy. Then, all of a sudden, this other individual comes along and has a big influence in your life. It can be threatening to a person's sense of identity. So one way of dealing with that is to try to control the other person.

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Apr 5, 2004
Feeling the need to control someone else seems to be caused by low self esteem, I think.
If you feel at ease with yourself there is no reason to be a bully - many people who demand 'respect' and who think that 'prestige' is important are probably very insecure of themselves.

Dear Ormandroyd
Thank you so much for allowing me to join, especially as I have yet to grump! Thanks for the opinion on my PS - am new here and getting to grips with GuideML has been fun for this sad person. I like all the colours, columns, boxes etc but the page says bugger all about 'me'.
Regarding the Post - deciding to do things the right way round, rather than arse about face as is the norm, I realized that the April Fool joke had another sucker! Silly moo, but serves me right!
Could not grump yesterday as was far too happy, and having slept-in had missed 'Breakfast With Frost' which usually initiates a Sunday Grump.
I have many, many grumps and don't know if I can really rant and rave here. Doing things the right way round, I may decide to read other grumps but feel I'll just grump as and when the mood takes me. Meantime, have just got in from work and have drunk about 3 x on an empty stomach and think I'll save my grump of the day for tomorrow. Trust me, it's better this way.
Anyway, do I get a badge? Do I have to grump first?
What's wrong with IKEA curtains? I like IKEA although husband says IKEA is to Sweden what MFI is to Britain.

Hi Titania,
MFI is a UK store that sells inferior furniture at exorbitant prices. I love IKEA but always spend too much when I go there.

Titania (gone for lunch) Posted Apr 5, 2004
Hmmm... I don't know if I' agree about the comparison between MFI and IKEA - some of the IKEA stuff has lasted for more than 20 years and 3 moves for me, at a reasonable price... and the reason you spend too much there is because you see all these really useful/decorative/nice stuff at rather reasonable prices, eh?

Ormandroyd, you are lovely. Am I allowed to say that on a grumpy thread?
I usually have plenty to grump about seeing myself as a responsible parent who wants to make our little blue and green planet a nice place to be. The little grumps don't matter, to me. (Like period pains, headaches, the tax man, well no, that is a big grump but I've done enough about him in the real world today!)
