I am delighted that South Korea have finally won a game at World Cup final, and done it with such passion, energy and finesse On the basis of that performance they should put the USA to the sword later in the round and make it through to the next stage for the first time ever. Its a pity that they'll then get roasted by Italy, but hey, all good things have got to come to an end.

They were excellent, weren't they? Brilliant fans, too! If they keep playing like that, who knows - they could beat Portugal, win the group and avoid Italy!

I wouldn't necesarily back them to recreate that form against the US or Portugal though.

Portugal no, but the USA? I see no reason why not.

I think today they really had something to prove, and I don't believe they will for the next two games, and Portugal and the US will have more idea of what to expect than Poland did. I also believe that the US and Portugal are both better than Poland.

I think Korea will go for it against the USA as they know they will be lucky to get anything out of their final game against Portugal.

There is also the issue of them wanting to better than the Japanese. This might be a *shared* tournament but the rivalries between the two make Rangers / Celtic look like a minor spat over a parking place

Either way, I think the Korea games are worth negotiating time off of work to watch

Surely wanting to get through to the next stage will be all the motivation Korea will need? They do have a big rivalry with Japan, and neither of them will want the embarrassment of being the first-ever host nation to go out in the first round.

Anyway, we'll see how good Portugal and the USA are tomorrow...
