In the book So long, and thanks for all the fish, Authur and Fenchurch find Marvin struggling along the road that leads to God's Last message to his creation. As they help him pass the miles, he tells them about his life since they last saw each other. He explains nearly all his parts have changed but they never worked well. Then he says "Do you know, the only thing that has not been replaced? All the diodes down my left side, rather an irony, if you ask me." (Marvins left diodes were the part he complains about having pains in in the original book, The Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy.) When they get to the top of the mountain and gaze accross the valley at God's final message, they lift Marvin to a pay-telescope. Before Marvin shuts down for the last time after his hard, sad and sarcastic life, the last thing he sees is God's message:
"Sorry for the inconvenience."

Hi Deep thought,
I'm sorry, but this isn't really suitable Edited Guide material. If you read the Writing-Guidelines you'll find that this deviates in a couple places. First off, it's fiction, instantly making it unsuitable. Additionally, I believe it probably also falls under the "gratuitious DNA (Douglas Noel Adams) references" section. Sorry about that, but it's the way it is.

I've kept my "alternative explanation of 42" out of Peer Review for this very reason (despite it being enlightening, informative and contraversial).
Still, you can always keep it on your own personal space.

Hi and welcome to the Guide!
Sorry, I have to say that I back the notions of the other people here... the entry recounts the books (which most people here know by heart )
I'd like to add that Peerreview is the place where the critique is very straight. We're all much nicer people outside of peer review

To be fair, there are plenty of people who don't know anything about the HHGTTG books. Although h2g2 was inspired by the books, it's not a fan site, and the Editors almost always remove references to the books from entries because for non-fans they just make no sense.
Hope this doesn't put you off trying again though.

Please ignore that last post. I will endeavour to read articles all the way to the end before commenting in future.

Good idea Gif. I may just have to take some off you list of entries from the list of researched entries if you're not careful.

That last quote should have read 'We apologise...'
Anyway, this looks much like a very young researcher stumbling into Peer Review on accident. I'd say forget about it and move this thread back to the entry. Scouts...?

Oh, I must be making a horrible impression today: the fierceful guy with the letters b-o-s-s somewhere in his name, asking for terrible things to be done .
To which I might add: I apologise for the inconvenience. Things will eventually return back to normal!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
