I know this is probably to controversial to make it into the edited guide but here it is anyway.

I agree. Too opinionated, too much deviation from the Writing-Guidelines, not enough facts. However, if you want lots of people to read this, you could put it in <./>ThePost</.>

I've just read through again, and realised it comes over as an attack on the USA, not what I intended. Maybe I'll take it down..

It's alright for you to attack America (or at least corporate america) if you want, but it oughtn't be in an Edited Entry form. Why don't you clean it up just a bit and send it to the post? Opinions *are* important, if not in Edited Entrys...

If you want it to go into the edited guide, you really should try and iron out some of the more ranty "anti-American" bits and try and place the emphasis more on the decline of international co-operation in recent years, as you see it. The UN's decreasing importance in intervening in civil wars and conflicts in the last few years is a good example to expand on. Just try and avoid going into "In my opinion this is because Dubya is a swine and owned by Big Business...etc" stuff. Insinuate rather than accuse
Other than that, it's well laid out (I've seen some "Edited Guide" entries that are shockingly laid out) and could be a very interesting entry.

And BTW Bush isn't owned by big business - he is big business

It's clearly an opinon piece and further suffers from incorrect facts.

Didn't the UN say rather a lot about Afghanistan, though it didn't *do* much. Certainly the security council gave permission for NATO to invade Afghanistan, right? And there are various resolutions about Israel and Palestine, and about Kashmir, which have helped to frame the debate. I think this entry's exaggerated the case somewhat...

Had an irresistable urge to stick the last entry back to the top. Sorry haven't had time to read it properly.

This is the last entry at this point? I feel old.
Maybe a Scout (unlike myself) ought to suggest that this be moved to the entry or to the Flea Market?

I may get decapitated by my fellow miners for suggesting this, but have you considered putting this in to the UnderGuide?
It may need some re-writing but the UnderGuide is certainly more open to opinions than the Edited Guide.
It might be worth a try...
By the way, I found this while trawling through some of my ancient backlog...just for your interest. I was the exiteable newbie who wanted to put this to the top of Peer Review!
