I might be a tenor. I realised this afternoon that my voice goes what I might consider to be fairly high - certainly high for a bass anyway.

It just seems that there's too much stress over what should be a fun activity is all...

Just make as much stress as you like. Someone else will do the thinking. It's what you make it and I think it's great that you are sticking with it. After what Mina said about music needing a licence and everything, I don't think the karaoke will work out.

We are entirely on our own. And I don't want to waste good nattering time in the afternoon discussing what to sing when we're in contact with each other beforehand anyway and can get the preliminaries out of the way, including the stress.

Then someone just turns up with copied sheets all ready and we can get some brief but intensive practice in, perform, and be back in the crowd before the kettle's even boiled.

Mina is expecting a concert!!!!!!!!!!!.

Instruments: only a recorder so far, although fp says he can play a guitar, but doesn't say whether he will play it. Recorder has the disadvantage that you can't sing at the same time.

Well, do we need instruments? If someone brings some Singing Potion, that is...

hate to say this, folks, but I'm now wondering how I'm going to be able to afford to come at all......I'll let you know soon if I'm not coming.... - but if I do come, I'll sing!

I certainly can't afford it. I haven't dared get a bank statement since I booked the flight. Am coming anyway.

Trillian's Child, I can play the guitar a bit but I really don't fancy lugging the acoustic all round London...

I quite understand. So whoever joins me, joins me, but Im not sure we'll be able to make enought noise to be heard if we do this in the open.

If there's an incredibly wealthy Researcher here somewhere, they could provide video link-ups wherever those who can't attend are, and all sing together that way.
but that's unlikely.
