Just started cleansing.. said when was doing circle that i was doing it for purpose of cleansing me and the house..
n then when lit candle said it was for cleaning..
The weird thing is it looked different!Like there was an extra ring of glow round the flame..n as i watched it for a bit..it seemed to be filling up with like a dark bit in the middle.n i could almost feel it sort of hovering! still can.. i take it thats all good..lol

it should really be something to eat even if its just a taste and the same of wine (but I know what you've got there thats ) dont forget to leave a little of each in honour of the goddess.
Regarding the book yes thats fine I would suggest to list Festivals from the back of the book so your not searching all the way thru it each time, write down everything and anything you can always transcribe spells etc at a later date to another book if you want to ... and you know its no problem you asking anytime

the dark in the candle is the coldest part of the flame and draws negativity ...and its the thought not the content of the offering that is important
