h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Seems as if H2G2 might be getting "disposed" of.

If so, I wish you all the best. I know there aren't many of us around anymore; but maybe some of you, like me, check in from time-to-time.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed. Thank you very much, it's been a blast.

I've a feeling something will come off and h2g2 will survive in some form - but for how long I'm not sure.

If nowt else I think I'll be making sure I have archive of what we had here
and never forget, one of the few (only?) h2g2 clubs to get its own smiley!

I think there are a lot more people around and reading than we think. Life is so hectic these days that contributing can be a problem, but I am sure people still pop in from time to time, and newbies would be most welcome, especiaily now.

You're right about the new owners, which is pretty funky - it's a combination of the h2g2 Community (who'll run most of the day-to-day stuff), Robbie Stamp (one of the original TDV guys, who'll take control of the business end) and a company called noesis (who run communities themselves and have offered server space and advice).

No idea about advertising yet, it's a bit early days. If you want to keep up to date, may I suggest A85834173? It has become the Announcents page for the new team.

I'm afraid I'm a bit too young to remember you guys, but I really hope you can keep logging on the odd day and keep in touch even after the handover.
