I'm new on the site, but would like to join. My first bike was an RD250, on which I passed my test, then a GS750 which introduced me to women drivers rather too imtimately. With the insurance it was hello KH400 and then Suzuki GSX 550 follwed by GSXR400 which failed it's MOT last year . I'm now looking for an FXR1000 or an SV650S or a ZX7R, or a 900 Monster or a Speed Triple or all of them if Mrs Nogbad wins the lottery.

Bassman - Funny how people never ceases to amaze me! Posted Apr 25, 2002
Hi one and all.
Bassman here, born again biker.
I currently own a Suzuki GS500E, which apart from bing a little unloved by previous owners, goes like a dream . Plans to upgrade this year, but lots of my plans have failed in the past, so don't hold your breath!!
My first (and subsequent bikes) A Yamaha DT80 Reg No VPV707X a Kawazaki GPz 550 Uni Trac AAV129Y a Honda (wet) Dream 250 - a real character bike. One day it would do 85 two up, the next it would struggle to break 50.
My virtual bike would be a Kawazaki ZRX1200 in RED (of course). (If they did the Green with the larger fairing, I would have that instead).
Other bikes I've been on - Honda CX500 with a side car - that was a hoot (but crap at the same time!) A Cossack 650, also with a chair, but on the right hand side. It's a little unnerving thrashing along country lanes passing lorries, who's wheels tower above you. A Honda C50 (total pants - don't ever go there) Honda CB100N CB250 & 400N Superdreams, Suzuki GSX250, GSX400 Custom, 650 Katana & GS1000. Kawazaki GPz750 & Z1300. Yam RD350LC & XJ650. Ducati 900SS. BMW R90.

It's a Russian bike, I think they perloined the design from BMW after the war, so it's a boxer twin. I've not seen another one for years - maybe not a bad thing!!
The one in question belonged to a mate of mine called Yeti.
