A Conversation for Talking Point: The Future of Pop Music

Lay Off - Pop can be alright.

There is a lot of good stuff that gets in the charts though.
The Sugarbabes and Mis-teeq are two great example of what can be done when the girl band style is combined with some talent and songwriting excellence.
It is also interesting to see how bitter some people are about their bands not being popular. I would like to see what they would think if all the 11 yr old Britney fans quit the queen of kiddie pop and started going to see stereolab, sonic youth, squarepusher or whatever your personal artist of the moment is. Were these bands that popular you'd never see them! It would cost £100 for a ticket. Who would want that.

Lay Off - Pop can be alright.

Yknow what? Youre right! With all the stupid people listening to the manufactured pop, theres just more albums, tickets, and stuff for the people smart enough to appreciate it.
