Lonnytunes - Winter Is Here

The Scouts do seem to have all gone off on vacation together. I've noticed that a couple of other excellent yarns in Peer Review haven't been visited recently either.

Julius a.k.a. Jay (194065: 14 * (9-6) + (5*0) = 42)

A couple minor factual corrections:

1. The spelling of a name: Winsor McCay. No "d" in the first name.

2. Although the nine rules for the RR&Coyote shorts are correct (at least they match the ones in Chuck Amuck, it's not quite right to write that all the shorts followed them. The Coyote talked to an audience of two young boys watching television in one short; also, the RR did drive at least one of the many trucks that hit the Coyote.

It might also be worth mentioning that Chuck did return briefly to directing new cartoon shorts with the Warner Bros. characters in the late 1990's. "Chariots of Fur," a RR short, was one such effort, with music by George Daugherty. He also directed the animated segment of the feature film "Stay Tuned" (perhaps the only thing worth watching the film for).

But other than those minor issues, a wonderful summary of the life and work of a wonderful talent! And I'm so glad Mr. Jones will be commemorated here. ("Oh Mr. Jones! Mr. Jones! Frankie and Perry just aren't in it, you're my swooner dreamboat loverboy, oooh-hoo-hoo-hoo!")

Thanks for the feed-back, though the piece in is now in the hands of the sub-editor (you know that Loony? I had an inside source tell me.).
The spelling of Winsor McKay should be picked up by the sub, I hope, if we were wrong, though I got the spelling from the article about Little Nemo which we linked to.

As to the other stuff, I'd suggest that you wait until the finished piece goes up on the front page, and then add your knowledge to the discussion.smiley - magic

Yes, I did know that. Some Subs work quicker than others... we have obviously struck a slow (perhaps busy) one. Incidently, I suspect the Sub won't read (be aware of) stuff recently posted here.

I think you misunderstand Loony-I didn't know the entry had even been picked until Linda told me about ten days ago.
I *know* where it is now and have no complaint about the speed of subbing. I've even went over there and had a sneak at the work in progress and think it's a bang up job.smiley - ok
I don't really mind that I didn't know, but it might have helped if something had been put here which would have helped out people like Zarquon, for example...
