A Conversation for Talking Point: Time Travel

Time as a perception

Post 1

One common theory is that time is nothing but a perception. If this is true, then I believe that time travel, if it ever becomes possible, will be a set of methods that allows us to change and possibly remove our perceptions of time. Imagine it as a mirror-- look at it head on and you can only see your own face, but if you angle it you can see it reflecting other objects. This is the best anology for my rather intangible theory I can think of at the moment; that time travel will be just another way of looking at the flow of time, another way of seeing things, a new perspective on chronology.

If anyone knows what I'm going on about please tell me; I would be interested in finding out.

of course time must be more than JUST a perception, as it is built into the universe at a fundamental level.

I look forward to the point when we have a better understanding of it.
