Will the Hobbit review page be renamed to "48 Lies a Second"?
Peter Jackson has said that The Hobbit is being filmed (and will be shown at) 48 frames a second, him and James Cameron say this reduces eye strain, and makes it more pleasant to watch 3D films....

Mr Vip reckons that the cinemas will need new projectors to show films at that speed. I wonder if that will mean on,e big cinemas can play it?

It appears that that Digital projectors should only need an upgrade, the "old" (and imho better (though more complicated and needing some training to use)) ones may have to be replaced....

Ah, that makes sense. Mr Vip's projection days were from back in his university days, so it makes sense that things have moved since then.

First off, sorry for not noticing this discussion earlier - things so rarely happen back here I seldom check...
Second off - hum - have to think of a new title for the review of The Hobbit, as I've had '48 Lies A Second' pencilled in for months but obviously can't use that now without looking like I've ripped it off. Thinking cap on.
Had a look at a website talking about the 24/48FPS issue and attempting to illustrate the difference. Wasn't terribly convinced that this isn't just another attempt to justify bumping up ticket prices.
Key: Complain about this post
