Nice entry. I've just bought a Renault estate. I thought about a Volvo. Maybe in a few years.....

It might be good to mention the image problem that the Volvos had, especially here in the UK. Not exactly the sexiest beasts on the road, were they?

Always admired these ugly automobiles.

There are a few spelling errors and typos, and a couple of phrasings you might wish to alter. Here's what I picked up:

derivitives - derivatives

rebadged - re-badged

those who are not Blackadder fans will not understand the Baldrick reference

visbility - visibility

aircon - air-conditioning

doubled word: 'what maintenance there is is simplicity itself' -- perhaps reword: 'very little maintenance is required'

two iseful cubby holes -- useful

transciever - transceiver

complainiang - complaining

warrantly - warranty

probmel - problem

beter - better

old farts - there are also young farts who cannot drive! perhaps you could say, unskilled drivers?

under-apreciated - under-appreciated

nonfranchised - non-franchised

auto box seems ot last for ever - auto(matic) transmission seems to last forever

many are still runnning - running

OK, but apart from those, I'd say this was pretty much ready to roll...

I did know that, yes.

I once knew a lady who owned one of the aforementioned tanks and parked it up on her drive, which sloped down past her house.

Whilst washing up, she heard a huge crashing noise as the Volvo demolished her porch. Mind you, not a scratch of damage to the Volvo. She'd forgotten to engage the handbrake.
