running a G3 ibook (dual USB, 128mb RAM, 30gb hard drive, 800mhz processor) slightly second hand but works a treat for what i need it to do. it runs mac osX2.2 so is slightly out of date but can be upgraded to osX 4.9 at least, not sure about x5 because it isnt out yet! but probably not.

Don't upgrade the OS until you must! It'll only slow you down.

Tumsup

Can I join? I have only owned Macs but I still know nothing about computers. I mentioned this to my nephew who is a computer science major at Waterloo and he laughed. It seems that most people learn about computers from trying to fix fuggups. My Macs have always worked so well and so intuitively that after years at it, I still don't understand what I'm doing.smiley - smiley

IME that's why all company tech support people hate Macs. They are fully employed dealing with PCs whereas those enclaves that use Macs run themselves!

clzoomer- a bit woobly

Nah, my IT guys hate that they have to upgrade everything to match operating systems and third party stuff that can't seem to catch up. Working Mac software that isn't common and is edit or graphic based can't seem to keep up with operating software.

Hi there!

Can I join, please? I'll be good!

I used to use PCs (2 desktops and a laptop) until Vista came along.
That was the final straw for me with PCs.

So, I bought an iMac (20" 2.33Ghz Intel core 2 duo)
I LOVED it, so after a while I started thinking about a laptop and bought a 13" white MacBook, on which I am typing right now.
I loved that too, so then I started thinking 'What am I going to do with that keyboard/mouse/monitor that I USED to use on my PCs?'
The answer? Buy a MacMini, so I did!
To add to my stable of Apple products, I now also have an iPod shuffle (2Gb) and an iPod Touch (16 Gb)
I have to say though, that I've NOT been tempted by the MacBook Air.

I can say that I am very pleased with the whole lot, although I have recently had a problem with cracks in the MacBook casing. Seems this is a known issue, but the waranty has expired, so I'll probably just
glue the cracks up.
Sorry to ramble on so much, but I just wanted to say how much i love Macssmiley - smiley

Montana Redhead (now with letters)

Greetings, fellow mac lovers!

Me, I used to use a MacII way back in the stone age, but then was given a succession of PCs, and after many years, finally realized what I'd missed all along...my mac.

So I got a new one. A nice little iBook. And then I decided that my daughter needed a mac. So I gave her the iBook, and got myself a MacBook. I'm hoping to buy an Air, but want more than one USB port on it.
