>>Before it was turned into a famous film in ? and before his death in 2006.

so he wrote it about something that happened before his death ? This sentence does not make sence.

volts are a measure of Potential difference, not charge.

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

"Some people believe that Peter Benchley the author of Jaws set about writing his novel after a series of attacks on humans, by a possible lone Great White in the summer of 1916 (....) So others believe what inspired him to write the book occurred more recently"

Peter Benchley has stated, for the record and in several interviews, *exactly* what inspired him to write Jaws. There's no need for anyone to postulate or believe what it might or might not have been.

It's necessary to include any previous PR threads in the new thread when an entry is removed from PR and then resubmitted. That way the reviewers and - more importantly - the Sub-editor can see *all* comments and suggestions.

Gnomon - time to move on

I'm not going to look at this, Opti, until you learn to write proper English. I've explained many times to you about sentences.

smiley - biro"it is time to face up to the truth surrounding them and try to understand them before they become extinct"

Seems too much of an opinion to me - why not say "it might be our last chance to learn more about them"?

smiley - biro"Until attacks upon humans by sharks happened"

Are shark attacks on humans a recent thing then? Surely it's been happening ever since humans ventured into the sea?

smiley - biro" Some people believe that Peter Benchley the author of Jaws set about writing his novel after a series of attacks on humans"

He said that himself, so everyone ought to believe it.

smiley - biro"Before it was turned into a famous film in ? and before his death in 2006"

Makes no sense. The book was written before it was turned into a film and before he died? Well, obviously it was...

smiley - biro"the 2 species of Mako Shark" --> the two species of Mako Shark

smiley - biro"monstrous Carcharodon Megalodon a 200 foot long shark"

You say it was 200 foot long, and then in a footnote say it was 60 feet long. Which is correct? And does this mean it wasn't big enough to eat whales?

smiley - biro Please go through the whole entry and make sure you're consistant with metric and imperial measurements.

smiley - biro"However, weighing a Great White Shark has proven controversial in that the Great White Shark differs in body weight depending on whether it has just eaten a meal"

Isn't that obvious? Of course it will weigh more if its stomach is full than if it is empty...

smiley - biro"The positioning of the main nerve pathways on the ventral side is a characteristic of invertebrates"

Is that relavent to an entry about sharks, which are vertebrates?

smiley - biro"Californian sharks often adopting"

That sounds like they choose their colour - do they?

smiley - biro"As humans differ in this sleeping pattern it is difficult to find out whether this is true or not"

I don't understand what you're trying to say here. Are you saying that because we sleep at night we know nothing about nocturnal creatures?

Right, I think that's enough for you to be going on with. Let us know when you've addressed all these points.

the problem here is... 'to be going on with'

I really think this should go through the WW before it is allowed back in PR.

You seem to have sorted most of my points smiley - cheers However, there are still some inconsistancies between metric and imperial measurements - in some places you have metric (imperial) and in some places it's the other way around.

No, he didn't.

I agree with Sho. You shouldn't put entries into Peer Review unless you think they are finished.

CB, you're lovely!

However, the point is rather made in Opti's name. If it was only this entry, only this one time I think people wouldn't mind.

But... well it isn't.

And since this one so obvioulsy needs a lot more work, the WW is the place for it. Then when it does come back over here... it will get through that much quicker.

I love sharks and would love to see this on the FP, but only when it's ready.

"I'm confused guys some people are telling me one thing and others another what is it to be?"

Perhaps you're referring to this from Cyzaki:
"Some people believe that Peter Benchley the author of Jaws set about writing his novel after a series of attacks on humans"

He said that himself, so everyone ought to believe it."

The story was *based* on the 1916 attacks but not inspired by them - it was something else that fired up his imagination to write the book in the first place.
