I need to give the campsite an idea of how many will be in our group and how many pitches we will require. Carlyon Bay has offered us a group discount, and will be able to give me final prices, once they know the size of the group. Therefore, could everyone who is coming please let me have the following information, either by posting below or by e-mailing [email protected] if you prefer.
For each pitch (tent, or indicate if caravan) I need to know:
number of adults and children (please state whether children are over/under 3 years)
U numbers (or whether you are bringing additional adults/children)
the nights you will be staying (eg Thursday - Monday, 4 nights)
if you are bringing a car (or more than one car per pitch)
any extras you require, such as awning or pup tent space, electric hook-up, etc.
Once I have given these details to the campsite, I will be able to get back to you with firm prices and booking details. In the meantime, if you want an idea of cost, please look at the Websites for the campsites concerned, which are linked from the meet page.

Just me, one tent, (about 1 ionch bigger than me) 1 bike/car.
I'll ask those non-h2 people I mentioned if they intend coming.
Well done, sorry I didn't get down there on my week off, too lazy

Oh, I'd hoped that was an answer to my question. I (U182827) want to come with my six year old - one tent and a car, Thursday to Monday. Do we have to pay for seven days?

Thanks guys... any more for any more?
ZSF - no reason to pay for seven days that I know of. Why do you ask?
*gets excited* I'm really looking forward to this now.

Although with this many "odd" people on the road at the solstice the police state may panic and re-create the "Battle of the Beanfield" with us
(sorry)

Hi Sus,
I'll be able to make it Not sure how many nights yet depends on work but put me down for all 4 nights as I can't see there being any problems getting the time off and if there is I'll find a way round it. LOL I'll get it booked off next week as theres only 3 of us allowed off at once so I'll get in first.
It'll be me a tent & probably my car.

Thanks folks.
I have sent details off to the campsite, and will get back to you with final costs as soon as I can.
Next question is whether we want to book in advance for the Eden Project? To do so will also require payment in advance, but would ensure that we are able to get in on the day ('tis a popular place and I know some people have been turned away) all together as a group. There is also the option of a guided tour, but this costs extra. I am assuming we will be happy to wander around as a group, but if anyone is keen on the tour, please let me know. Costs can be found on the Eden Project Website.
Also, how many people are interested in visiting Heligan on the Friday? Again, there may be a discount, and I have read somewhere about a joint Heligan/Eden discount. If people can let me know their opinion, I will look into the options and post up details.
Finally, if there is anyone who has not signed up yet, but is interested in attending, IT IS NOT TOO LATE! Please let me know ASAP, as per the first post in this thread. Thanks.
Sus

DOes any one have a spare bit of space in a tent? I lost the poles for mine last year whilst hitching, and havent managed to get new ones yet .
Having asked that question, I have to say that my ability to come is currently under question - on the thursday before I will find out what class of degree I get , and if I am a bordeline on getting a higher class of degree than I get, then I will get an oral examination viva type thing, to see if I deserve a better mark, and those vivas are on friday morning, so I really have to still be in edinburgh thurday night, and if i have a viva then I will be in edinburgh until sometime in the afternoon friday, and then i dont have very much time to get down to cornwall before saturday morning
Then there is the fact that I might be incredibly depressed about my appaling degree mark
COmplicated. I wonder if I can work something out fro travelling down friday night sat early morning... hmmm

My tent is tiny, just big enough for me and all my junk so I can't help much in that regard.
*But* there are many camping shops near to where I work, can go get you some poles if that is any help..... But I think they are £10 each for a complete set & a brand new tiny dome tent is only £40 or so.... doesn't sound right to me.
Hope all goes well with your degree! & look forward to seeing you down there!
