Leadership

I can tell you what I think about Leadership, but first I want to ask you a question...
Do you know the name of someone who's carried the Olympic Flame?
You see, you don't know his name. He didn't carry the Flame as an individual. He carried it as the representative of a Human Ideal.
And you don't know the roads he ran down. Nobody was there to cheer. He didn't carry the Flame for glory. He carried it because it stands for something bigger than he aspires to be himself.
And you won't notice him now. He bears no outward sign of the honour that was bestowed on him. When his road was run, he simply passed the Flame on to the next man, and he did it with generosity, and with a silent pride.
The Flame-Carrier is a Leader. True Leaders are selfless in just that way.
Maybe you don't think you're a Leader. Maybe the things you've done seem too insignificant, and too few.
But you're a Torch-Bearer too. Those few insignificant steps are steps on Mankind's Glorious Road.
Be proud of them, and be brave...
