My article on evolution. It is very much under construction. But when I flesh it out it will still be in the same place so you can link it in to the uni project.

a slight technical error.

a gene is usually a single base pair.

it takes three base pairs to code for each amino acid in the active chemicals.

where do proteins fit into this?

ps, there was a third guy atthe time who had figured out that the genetic info was probably in the dna. it just took until crick and watson for the technology to catch up to prove it.

Um, a gene is never just a base pair. It's usually a couple of hundred bases. Did I write that??? If I did I'm very silly. But I can't see where I said that.

Could you point it out to stop confusion?

oops, my mistake.

a gene usually codes for 1 protien, which is made up of a sequence of amino acides, each of which is coded for by a set of three bases. therefore, you are right.

but this is not totally clear from the text.

perhaps you can add some clarification of this point?

Good point.

Though it isn't really relevant for the article, I'm not sure that it's necessary to go into that much detail. Maybe I'll mention it when I get to the mutation part.
