"...DNA himself would find the Edited Guide too restrictive "
Yup. And in his original vision of the Guide, he seemed to revel in the creative anarchy which came from patchy editing and variable writing styles! The more an entry conforms to a strict format in terms of layout and content, the less resemblance it bears to the original "Guide" which inspired many of us to join up in the first place!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
