Mr Inertia - Now new, improved and mostly human!

I'm try to get a button to work on a web page using the following code in html :-

It will allow me to click on the button - but will not link to the next file. What am I doing wrong?

the probelm is that your href tags are not enclosing the button

this code should do the trick:

smiley - ok

No problemsmiley - ok

Anything you want linked you need to enclose in a href tags like pictures or buttons. With picture remeber to set the border="0" to get rid of the horrible border.

I've used the bit of code that you gave me
::points up::
That's supposed to call another html file called "U:\horizon\transactions.htm".
But...on the status bar at the bottom of the screen it comes up with "\\\U:horizon\transactions" as the file to be run and won't do anything!!

If the file is in the same folder as the one being called a simple ahref="transactions.htm" will do

Some of the files may be in defferent folders which is why I wanted to specify drive, etc. Does that cause extra problems?

(Please remember, you're talking to an almost complete dummy!!)

The code I'm using is as follows:-

The button will not link although the simple text hyperlink(?) will!
this is now starting to drive me nuts!
Is the fact that in one is in lowercase and one in uppercase going to cause problems?

Brilliant!!
I only needed the first bit of code and have copied that as necessary.

Just one last question - can you make the button be the full size of the width and height of the square?

Make that two last questions :-
Can the buton be the full size of the bit?
And when I copied the code to make four in a row - some of them are out of alignment. Why?

Dont know without the code

Experiment with the sizes WIDTH="100%" might do it

Slight change of plan.....I've pasted the code I'm using into here - this gives me 4 buttons in a row with text underneath. However, there's a gap between the buton and the text I could do with getting rid of, and the buttons could do with being a little chunkier. Any ideas?
