OK, I'm going to own up to a reputation for being a bit scruffy at work.
I have several jackets for the purpose, but they're all a bit decrepit. Some of them are the residual top half of worn-out suits. Others are linen things that we're quite stylish once (I think so anyway), but now they're irredeemably scrunched.
The Weddell is pretty sharp on the subject, as usual. Parting shots I had to smile at in the last month include:
"You've got a job interview in Albania, I take it?"
and...
"Maybe there are other people who dress like you, for an hour or so after leaving prison".
