Short, and (hopefully) sweet. I decided that in a place like h2g2 where everybody is either British or an anglophile this entry was necessary.

Zarquon's Singing Fish!

Hi Strider!

smiley - ermIt's anglophilia, for a start. And randomly - no 'e'.

I think maybe if you want this entry to be a goer, it's probably going to have to be a bit more substantial.

You might include notable anglophiles and maybe by contrast, anglophobes.

Hi there , smiley - biggrin

Sorry, but I agree with Zarquon, this isn't going to get the green light in it's current state. smiley - sadface

I propose whacking it up on the Alternative Writers' Workshop page at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A608799. You may get some interesting feedback. It's supposed to be a place to experiment and have fun. smiley - cool
Don't take it amiss, it's an interesting idea and not *all* entries have to achieve 'edited status' in order to be read! That's partly what the AWW is all about. Having fun with language and ideas without necessarily aiming at the 'official' guide. Whadda ya' reckon? smiley - smiley

PS Surely that isn't the BrEng spelling of 'arbitrarily'? smiley - sorrysmiley - blush

"From the Medieval Latin AnglĂ meaning "The English People"

Sorry mate, it's not medieval - it's older. The Angles were a Tuetonic tribe that invaded Britain - hence their portion of the country was named Angle-land (England)

The medieval Latin was refering to, and derived from, the older name.
